When I was a kid back in 2005, I heard and saw previews about this show on Nick called Avatar: The Last Airbender. I wasn’t allowed to watch that kind of TV unfortunately and I got to the point years later to where I was annoyed when anybody I knew mentioned or talked about Avatar and I then later labeled it an overrated kids show. I had a really bad taste for shows back then.

Many years went by and I saw a little web show called Nostalgia Critic and the host, Doug Walker, did quite a few reviews about this show (including the abominable M.Night Shyamalon film adaptation of the film), and my eyebrows were raised then I thought about checking it out sooner or later.
Well now I just finished the show and l gotta say. I WAS SO INCREDIBLY WRONG about how I viewed it back in 2005. This just easily became my second favorite show of all time right behind Breaking Bad. The voice casting is excellent, the story is excellent, the concept is excellent, the music is excellent, almost every single thing about is show is excellent.
This series proves that writers of Disney does not always have to be the master of storytelling, almost any writer like Nickelodeon’s can tell a great story. In my honest opinion, Avatar is my favorite Anime that is technically not an Anime.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is an Animated Masterpiece that deserves every single piece of recognition it deserves, so much that that I give it another absolute 10/10.
I’m not going to list a pros and cons about this show, so instead, I’m going to list different moments that stood out to me throughout the entire show so SPOILERS BELOW for anyone who has yet to watch this excellent show, don’t read on unless you really want to.
-The moment that Aang realizes he’s the Last Airbender and it causes him to go into his Avatar State.
-The moment when Katara finally stands up and becomes a Waterbending Master in the Northern Water Tribe.
-When Zuko and Aang have a moment of peace before Zuko goes back to hunting him.
-The moment when Aang uses his Avatar State to push back General Zhao’s army and defeats him for good.
-The moment when Zuko’s crazy sister, Azula is introduced in Season 2 and later becomes a full threat throughout the rest of the show. Not to mention that she also pursues Zuko and Iroh as Fugitives after certain events happen.
-Toph’s introduction, it was very well written.
-Aang tries to learn Firebending but accidentally burns Katara through his recklessness.
-The moment when General Iroh is shown to be one of the most powerful warriors besides Aang.
-When Aang’s bison, Appa, is stolen and it causes Aang to rage in his Avatar State and almost kill innocent civilians.
-The moment that Aang is able to activate his Avatar State at will but is shot in the back with lightning by Azula (It showed me how relentless she really is)
-Any time Sokka is funny which is pretty much in almost any episode he’s in.
-Zuko’s transformation from a villain to a beloved friend to Aang.
-The entire series finale, Sozin’s Comet.

There are many other moments that really stand out to me but I can only list so many more without rambling, it truly is one of my favorite series ever made with Breaking Bad trumping it by just a little bit.
